I just saw Alpha Dog last night and I thought it was excellent. If you saw it what were your opinions.

I thought this movie was well-written and directed, but didn't feel this way until the second half when the events began to unfold. The first half was supposed to set the rest of the story by giving us a glimpse into the wannabe gangsta lifestyle of the over-privileged So-Cal youths, but the on-screen portrayal was too cartoonish. Admittedly, the real-life kids' lifestyle is laughable (wealthy kids living/behaving like the gang bangers they see on MTV and BET), but the way it was portrayed in the film was what made it even more ridiculous. It should have been more subtle. Other than that, it was heart-wrenching and worth seeing. Everyone did a wonderful acting job, and Timberlake's performance was impressive.

on a scale of one to 10 this movie rates about a 7+
good artistic attempt to portray the true life story behind a tragedy
gangster lifestyle of middle California in the late 90s...
starts off bit annoying...
mood... energy... good... for a while...
ending gut wrenching horrible tragedy...
