Stick with Elijah.

Tread heavily right here. Elijah is a obviously masculine call, yet to my eye, any version spelling takes it into the area of the female. Elizah, as an celebration, is of direction a ladies' call. Elyja looks female, too. in case you're concerned that Elijah is only too undemanding, you would evaluate Abraham or Gideon or yet another a lot less regular Biblical decision.

The only way to settle this is to compare: Elijah and Alijah (ah lee jah) ( Modern English- The Lord is My God)
Elijah (ee ligh jah) ( Old English-The Lord is My God).
The correct spelling for it to be a girls name is I believe. Alija.
So I guess the choice is yours.

Still not keen for a girl, but especially because odd spelling names always cause pronouciation errors. That to me looks like Aly-jah rather than eh-lie-jah. Remember they call out the childs name in every class, I used to hate having to tell every new teacher how to prounoue my name or to call me by my nickname. Especially if your daughter ends up being shy, she may end up having teachers or others mis-pronouce it because she's too shy to speak up.

If you really want Elijah for your little girl then definitely just stick with the normal spelling, it's less confusing.

in my opinion no matter how you spell it is still going to sound the same when you say it. it is a boy's name. that is what i am naming my baby boy due in april. please name your baby girl with a girl's name. there are too many names that the boys have to share with the girls now a days.. i mean i wouldn't name a little boy isabella. name your baby what you want but just remember when people see her name she will be mistaken for a boy and she might end up in a classroom with a boy that has her name. if that doesn't bother you then fine but it might end up being a problem for her.

I like Elijah better, because you can call him 'Eli', on the other hand; if you spell it Alijah, it looks like a girl's name(Aliyah), and his nickname would be 'Ali'.....that reminds me of Muhammed Ali..............

Josiah, love it, love the name Josiah. I really liked Elijah/sha for boy twins, when I was younger, I don't know, Elijuh may be another way to spell it differently. I also like Isaiah and Matthew..
