all i need to know is how hot a Bunsen burner (running on propane) burns, also if you know any other mechanism i could use to generate a high heat flame (2000 F would be nice) that would be handy

I believe it is about 1600F at the tip of the flame. (about 871C).

We just manage to melt sodium chloride on our laboratory Bunsen Burners - and NaCl melts at 801C.

A furnace would do the job.

Can't find how hot a bunsen gets. :(
