i sell stuff on ebay and yes it can be a pain. it just depends on what your selling and for how much.
make sure to look up what your selling and research it.
a good trick is to start with a low starting bid price and bump up shipping. its not cheating, it just draws people to check out your auction.
also, be competitive with your price, if you really want to sell something you might have to take a hit on what it really cost.
good luck!

Sometimes sales go well other times they are sour. Hard to say why except in my opinion too many people sell the same item so that is your real competition. Try to sell something in your line that 100 people on Ebay sell not so much. I try to pick out products of keyboards and guitars that other don't have. Retail prices do not sell on Ebay at all because everyone there is looking for a bargain. If you are importing from China, and air freighting your product in, the big stores that get shiploads will beat you out by low balling prices. Just remember the fees you pay are your "rent". If too high it can kill you. It is not ez to make money there. I tried twice and still drowning! And shipping is just one of the biggest losers for you. Shipping is too costly and when you ad it up it is a killer too for your business. Free shipping should be against the law as far as I am concerned but people are spoiled by Amazon and others like it. I don't recommend Ebay at all unless you want to work your A-- off and have back problems from sitting too long at the computer. After 6 years and big expenses I am ready to finally give it up

you would be fortunate if something you sell on ebay surely fetches the shop value. What did you pay for the cellular telephone? whilst it comprises cellular telephones, the retail value does not relatively advise plenty because of the fact an excellent sort of companies furnish a chit off that value or maybe provide most of the telephones away loose with a clean activation. human beings come to ebay to no longer purely discover unique and confusing to discover products, yet to additionally discover super bargains! except you have a extensive inventory of issues to sell, then you definitely are no longer likely to make an excellent sort of money off of Ebay purely because of the fact maximum persons are unwilling to pay retail value for many products provided. Why? various reasons, variety one being that whether you purely used the article some circumstances and it nonetheless seems sort new, it has depreciated in value and isn't any longer properly worth as much as a clean...whether you obtain the article and not in any respect took it out of the field that's nonetheless no longer properly worth as plenty because of the fact, properly, why might they purchase an merchandise from you whilst they are in a position to bypass to an excellent keep that they are acquainted with and purchase a similar factor for a similar value and have the skill to return the product and likewise be provided a guaranty at verify out.

Well, its like an equation. You have to have the right combination of variables in order to get lucky.
It depends on what you have to sell, how much info you have on the item, how much you are trying to sell it for and what the shipping is. Also, it depends on the season. For instance- you wont sell coats or sweaters so well in the summer. People go to ebay for a deal. Are you offering a good deal? Are you giving good information? Is it easy to deal with you? Think like a buyer.

I don't have any problem. Maybe the stuff you're attempting to sell isn't wanted. Contrary to belief, Ebay isn't a giant garage sale. People don't want to buy crap.
