i have a dirty tape, and i want to clean it
also, the letters are coming off like they were wrote with a gel pen
it's Shout at the Devil by Motley Crue and it's old
the letters are really coming off onto my fingers like they were just printed and i don't understand that

p.s. im afraid to rub the letters anymore for fear they will come off completely
i can barely see what songs are on there already

use labels . write what is on the tape and stick the label onto
the tape.use permanent marker or ink pen

Open the tape and use another tape that you don't like and rethread it onto that one. We used to fix tapes like this back in the day.

Look up Shout at the Devil online- should be the same play order on CD as tape- or get the CD-

Don't rub the letters
I would figure out the titles, copy them, and copy the entire tape on my Harddisc, maybe rework / remix it, improve the sound how I like it best, transfer it to CD, and, or create MP3 files. You can keep the original as a souvenir

But that's just me, I used to have special hardware and software for all that. Haven't done things like that lately. But I quite enjoyed music that way

maybe the one you have is a bootleg w/ poor quality printing. you can go to amazon.com or ebay and get a replacement. restoration would cost more than replacement
