Everyone says just ask him but believe me that is a lot harder than people think. Wait it out a couple of months and try to help him with his homework or something

if he is being mean in a joking fashion, then he probably likes you. This is what I do with women that I like. I don't try to be excessively nice or "gentlemanly" towards women I like because I'll always come off as sounding phony and "out to get something" (something being perverted). when we menchildren act mean, its just our akward way of trying to be friendly, down to earth. were trying to respect you by not coming on too strong, but since were akward dorks, we can't pull it off just right so we resort to childish name calling and farting and stuff like that. Trust me, that mean dude is considerate and will probably love you forever and put you up on a pedestool and treasure you forever. its the guys with the smooth talk and cologne baths that will break your heart.

Being mean counts as attention too. Boys, like girls, tend to pay more attention to those people who they like.
