no..because one would have to drown first at least a few seconds before the others decided to do the same, and therefore it wouldn't be syncronized would it? Since they weren't all together.

No, they won't drown. In fact, synchronised swimmers have trained so extensively that there is no way one of them can drown under normal conditions. The only way I can think of in which one of them would drown is if he/she was drunk or under the influence of drugs; the person suddenly passed out; or if he/she was struck on the head and knocked unconscious.. All those situations are near impossible: if one of the swimmers was under the influence, the group would not be synchronised.

If one of them passed out, they won't be synchronised anymore, as they would turn to rescue the aforesaid individual. And lastly, if one of them was knocked unconscious by an object, they would again no longer be synchronised.

As synchronised swimmers generally perform in pools as opposed to rivers, lakes, or the sea, there are no currents that can suddenly pull them under.
