I am 6 and a half wks preg ive been bleeding lightly on and off for about a week. I had a scan and the baby had a heartbeat and looked fine. Is there still a chance i could miscarry as ive been bleeding for the last week and the dr didnt really explain much.

Call your doctor and ask questions until you are satisfied with the answers, write a list so you don't forget anything....make sure to report anything new happening and express that you are concerned

I wouldnt worry about u miscarrying that much because stress and worry is not good for u and the baby right now.I know its hard not to thing about the fact that u might miscarry but try to think positive. At 6 weeks pregnant I also had spotting,it was from light pink to light red everytime i wiped and even when i would check myself inside to make sure it was coming from the vagina..there sometimes would even be quite a bit of blood. I went to the ER and saw the heartbeat and everything was said to look ok and that there was no threat to the baby but to be on bed rest. I stayed on bedrest for about 2 weeks off and on and im now happy to say im 11 weeks tomorrow and no bleeding since 8 weeks...I feel fine..women sometimes bleed like this and doctors dont ever know why but u just have to have faith and rest as much as possible. i suggest u stay on bed rest until the spotting stops and no activity..Good luck and hope all is well with your baby!

It's possible...this is the time when many women miscarry. However, I bled for about a week and a half between 6 - 7 1/2 weeks with my son, and he will be 12 years old tomorrow.

Call your doctor. Chances are, if the baby still had a heartbeat, you're ok.

Seeing the heartbeat is a very good sign...but you can still miscarry after seeing it. Any bleeding during pregnancy is a reason to call the doctor. If you visit was recent and the doctor knows about the bleeding...then call and ask to speak to one of the OB nurses. They can pull your file and explain to you what the doctor thought it was and when you should be alarmed.

Wow, american doctors are assholes, they really dont tell you a lot do they! Some women bleed... i don't know why... could be from the swelling of the cervix to keep it closed .. could be from stretching of the uterus as it grows. All i knwo is that i've known a lot of women who have had bleeding early in their pregnancies and have gone on to have very healthy babies. Best of luck ot you.

I had the same think happen early in my pregnancy and I rushed to the ER ( this is my first child). I was told that some light bleeding may be normal as long as you don't see any clotting.
