Its between he went looking for water or he is dead im sorry to say dead but do you live near water or a forest or something otherwise he could be in your back yard if you have puddles or under a rock or under a deck or any where so theres still hope he could just be scared to come out its instinct for him unless you find him good luck sorry about the TURTLE!

He probably went towards water. They have this instinct to go find ponds. He probably couldv'e survived if it is a turtle that can be found in your area.

Where it went and whether it will survive depends totally on the species it was and whether or not there is appropriate habitat nearby.
