This problem requires two steps.

First, layout the intial problem
5 times the first interger (x) is (or equals) 12 more (12 plus ) three times the second (3 times y)
5x=12+3y
Now that you have a problem with two unknowns we have to solve for one of the unknowns. The answer lies in the first statement.
Intergers (when consecutive are 1 number apart, if they are odd then they are two numbers apart)
Therefore:
y-x=2 ( because they are consecutive odd intergers)
or
y=x+2

Using the information we have about the value of y plug this into the first formula, and solve.
5x=12+ 3(x+2)
5x=12+3x+6
5X=18+3x
2x=18

x=9
y=11

Then of course
check your answer:
5(9) = 12+3(11)
45= 12+33
45=45

TADA!!

9 and 11 Ur 2 astonishing intergers are unknown so we could stated as them x and x+2 (that's plus 2 considering that is consecutive and its astonishing like a million and 3 or 5 and 7 that are astonishing and consecutive and are 2 numbers aside) 5 cases the 1st interger is 5x and 12 greater beneficial than thrice the 2d is 3(x+2)+12 so ur difficulty is 5x=3(x+2)+12 5x=3x+6+12 5x=3x+18 2x=18 and so x =9 (ur 1st interger) and the 2d is x+2 (x=9) so plug in for x, u get x+2 is the comparable as 9+2 that's 11.

Let the first odd integer be x. The next integer is therefore x + 2, as they are odd numbers.

The relationship between them is thus: 5x = 3(x + 2) + 12

Solve for x: 5x = 3x + 18
x = 9.
x + 2 = 11.

The integers are thus 9 and 11.

OK, let's start with what we know.
we have x and x+2 (two consecutive odd integers)
we also know that ...
5x = 3(x+2) +12
from here we can solve for x
5x = 3x + 6 +12
match like terms
5x = 3x +18
subtract 3x from each side
2x = 18
x=9

So our answer is 9 and 11.

Good luck!
