Doesn't it hurt their conscience when they lie like that in order to defend Bush? Doesn't it hurt them to be the opposite of a realist all the time? Doesn't it feel bad to feel compelled to support such a failed president?

No one is saying it is a great war any more, but many think it is an important war. There is a lot at stake there and 9/11 has shown that there is a lot at stake here, too.

I recently heard someone say that we provide arms to Pakistan and other Middle Eastern country - and my first thought was "why are we doing that? let's stop that" and then it occurred to me the Cold War mentality that got us providing arms in the first place to balance what Russia gave - each assuming loyalty in defending borders and resources. Does North Korea have arms they could give or sell that would ellicit loyalty? Some are saying is that an area we left too early, only now to have to deal with a bigger and stronger problem.

The bottom line is that there are a LOT of factors involved here - and however criminal Bush was in getting us in there, we now have a responsibility to handle this. The dems are saying Pull out troops - but they are not putting forth what they think that will do, what the outcome will be. There have been good plans put forth in the past, but we all need to sit and think rationally about it.

I favor the idea of new leadership. I think with Bush & Cheney impeached the UN and the international community would be more inclined to work with us and help stabilize the region. I can see the middle east as a revolutionary america often times - and what they need is to be recognized as legitimate groups with valid stakes in the region and have a say in how it is handled. What did revolutionary america want? To self govern - to live their lives as they wish. We need everyone to just put down the guns and start talking respectfully and inclusively. There is a diplomatic solution here.

And let's try to stop the flow of arms, please.

Peace!

Are you privy to the real sucesses and failures in Iraq?
What makes you so sure we are failing in Iraq? Just because some knuckleheads like Murtha and Pelosi say so? Please. From the people who claimed that their first one hundred hours was going to produce real legislation, but all they have produced is a minimum wage hike and plans to to make an unofficial statement against Bush? Please. You must be kidding. Where do you get your news from ABC?
Would it hurt Americans to show a little support for Maliki and the Iraqi people? Pull the troops out now, and the Iraqis WILL hate us forever.

You liberal mush head, why do you ask a question, then insult people when they give an answer you don't agree with. Why bother asking a question. If your want different views from a variety of people, then fine. If you want people who agree with only what you believe, then find a liberal Bush bashing Troop hating leftwing website somewhere. I will not answer anymore of your questions. You may as well create a new screen name.

You can't call Republicans liars or try to make them feel bad because frankly you have no honest answer as to what would have happened had Saddam been left in power and then at this first if we were to have just left Iraq in a big mess. Did you know that one of Saddam's sons had plan to overthrow his own father from power and take over, I don't even want to think about what that man would have done if left alone and given the opportunity. In all probability, for all you know... that region could have gained so much control and that by the time we did have to go in that it would be too late if not leaving us to fight their forces on our allies soil in Europe or on North America.

How did WWII come about? Because people knew Hitler was a tyrant and building up forces that he was not suppose to under the Treaty of Versailles but everyone just left him alone because they were poor and tired of fighting from WWI... who's to say that could not have happened with Saddam.

I doubt you are a realist and you are living in a fantasy world that you are able to live in because you have someone else fighting for you and your country. My conscience is fine, but I think beyond your facade.. yours is not.

You question is a very good.
The answer is simple..
THEY HAVE NO CONSCIENCE!!!
What cracks me up it is that many of the people you are speaking of are proclaimed Christians...
Christians, I think not .. where in the bible or any where else for that matter does it state we are to send our innocent young men out into battle to fight a mindless senseless war, because some spineless whimp told us to.
Why do they support a failed President??
Because they are no better than he is, pure and simple.
This is the way our government is run, sad isn't it?

I want details before you can say your claim is true. What is the details involving the WMD that even the Democrats and Clinton believed we had. What is the actual fact that says our war is a failure? You didn't or are unable to give one even tho we haven't been attacked since so it can't be to failed? You are just ranting without any intelligence to back up your claim. Just another uneducated liberal.

that would be true, if you were referring to the same specious of humans. But these republicans are not human, and therefore do not share the same morals or values.
Their words, not mine.
