You can get some benefit from any amount of green tea, and I have never heard of an upper limit how much is safe to drink. Obviously you don't want to be drinking twenty cups a day, you won't have time to do anything else, and it can dilute your blood to an unhealthy extent.

You'll the most benefit from fresh tea that has not been sitting in tea bags for several weeks or months. I get my tea from Teavana, a US based company, that will mail order fresh tea in canisters that can keep it fresh for up to a year. They also have lots of different kinds of tea, including flavored green teas, so if you don't like green tea all that much, you can get citrus, or flower flavored, and drink something that you do like. They call their basic green tea Dragonwell. Fresh tea leaves can be reused up to four times, so while the cost may be a bit more then you'd pay in the store, it's worth it.

I keep a three quart jug of fresh brewed "iced" green tea in my fridge at all times, and I probably go through that jug in a day and a half, and have had no negative reactions or effects.
