Yes violence in the media children violent.
In mass communication there is a theory call USES AND GRATIFICATION theory the concept of this theory is what people use mass communication messages for and the pleasure derived from the message
with all sincerity children learn allot from what they see and ear wish is by practical example. more so if children are always introduce to violence sure they will emulate violence

The world can be a violent place, so children shouldn't be shielded from it completely. I do think senseless violence just for the sake of violence serves no purpose and can desensitize young kids.

It may make them less sensitive, but it is the lack of parents who don't control what their children watch on television that causes this. START PARENTING...NOW.
