A = 4 points
A- = 3.7 points
B+ = 3.3 points
B = 3.0 points
B- = 2.7 points
C+ = 2.3 points
C = 2.0 points

All you do is multiply the number of points each grade is worth by the number of credit hours you took, sum, and then divide by the total number of credit hours you took. For example, in #1, I am guessing you took one credit hour for each, it would be 4(4) + 3.7(3) + 2.3 (1) = 29.4; divided by 8 = 3.675.

I couldn't say for sure because I don't know how your school structures the points, but that is how mine did.

GPA's are weighted based on how many credit hours are alloted for a course--so I can't tell you exactly. However, if all the classes have the same number of credit hours, the first quarter should be about 3.6 and the second about 3.9. You are in very good shape!

the formula for calculating this yourself is as follows:

Assign 4 points for an A, 3 for a B, and so on. Since your schools uses both + and -, add or suptract 1/3 point for those (that's the usual weighting). Now multiply the points for each grade by the number of credit hours. Addup the results for all the grades and then divide by the total number of credit hours. The result is your GPA for the semester.

To calculate your cumulative GPA, do the same thing--you can't just take the average of all your semester GPAs, because the number of credit hours will vary.
