I agree with you. However, I think some of it is just ignorance. Fear of the unknown. I honestly dont think some of them mean to act racist. Some are just truly clueless, or have been saturated with years of brain washing that ALL of us are a certain way, if we dont fit the mold... they dont get it. I will also agree with a previous poster that all of us are a little racist, whether we'd like to be honest about it or not.

First off, this is perhaps the most loaded question I've ever seen on this site. But, instead of bickering over who is or isn't racist, the real problem is that everyone stereotypes people. It's human nature, wired into our heads going back to the caveman days. Biologically, stereotypes are what allowed the cavemen to not keep poking the sleeping bear. If a bear chases you once, you assume all bears will do that and stay away in the future. Makes sense, right?
The problem is that as a species we have evolved so far from those days that it's no longer necessary to have this innate ability. Just because one person did something to you at some point in your life doesn't mean every other stranger will do the same. Unfortunately, for many people it doesn't even require something to ACTUALLY happen to them to form a stereotype that is hard to break later. Culturally, the US in particular, we have a history of accepted racism which is a lot harder to break than simply changing laws and pretending it all went away. It's been 43 years since the "I have a dream" speech, but there are still a lot of 70 year olds alive. Things have certainly advanced, but there are still millions of people - black and white - who were alive to witness much of the old system who have had a hand in raising the past 40+ years of children. Stereotypes from long ago are hard to break.
When thinking about racial tensions between black and white people, I really don't think either side has made enough of an effort to break down some of the barriers. The best we've done is start to break into socio-economic groups quietly hating each other instead of it being a purely race based activity. Sadly, history suggests that we will never reach a point where people don't just blindly discriminate against each other so maybe this change is the best we can ever hope for.

First of all anyone who knows about racism knows that minorities who are not in power cannot be racist. They can only be prejudice. A Racist is a person who prejudges another according 2 his skin color and also has the power 2 stunt his economic growth because he or she is in a position of economic power. Therefore most minorities can prejudge European Americans all they want, they cannot say "there aren't any positions available" , or "this is the salary I'm offering 2 you take it or leave it" . And it is very plain 2 see that if you are employed in this country in any business or corporation when you get 2 the corporate level look at the color of the skin of the majority of people working there!!! Some European American racists' feel they can be civilized and racist at the same time, but there are those who know that being civilized and racism do not go hand-in-hand. So instead of not being racist they conceal how they truly feel because they don't want the world 2 know how truly uncivilized they really are.

Society is made of PEOPLE. They're going to be disgusting and strange and paranoid, and (yes, unfortunately) racist, because all people are little trolls sometimes.
If drugs are illegal as an excuse to put African Americans in jail, I would love to hear prohibition explained. That's silly. They'll remain illegal until the United States investigates, regulates and generates profit from them. Then kids will be able to sneak to the corner store and buy a pack of joints with their lunch money just like kids did with cigarettes when I was in High School.
People are poor all around. I was dirt poor when I was a teenager. I've seen a whole lot of people holding other people down, and it did not look like what you're describing. Stand up and be pissed off at people in general. Instead of holding it in and blowing up over the internet, maybe you could pipe up when it's happening.

That's gotta be one the of biggest sterotypes, because anyone can be racist. Just like black and hispanic people are exploited as violent all the time, white people are exploited racist more than anyone. And racism comes from self-hatred. People who grew up in a family of racist, secret;y hate the way they were brought up but feel obligated to do what their loved ones say. Some peoplel have had bad experiences with other races, but that doesn't mean stoop down and hate them back for hating you. Help them break those barriers. There is racism within one race. Tell me you have never seen black on black, white on white, hispanic on hispanic crime and so on.

It's like that with some white people, but it's also that way for some blacks, hispanics, asians, etc. Are you willing to admit that you're racist against white people? If you're not, then you're exhibiting the exact behavior you're getting mad about. You can't honestly ask that sort of question (largely talking about your added info here) and not be a racist.

Ya know what, not all white people are racist just like not all black people are criminals and not all asians are smart and not all mexicans can fit 25 people in a one bedroom apartment. Stop grouping all races together. Some white people are racist. Some black people are racist. Some asian people are racist. Some hispanic people are racist. I don't know why we bother having black history month and hispanic heritage month and had to go renaming all of our holidays to just holidays to accomodate all the different religions celebrations and to make everything as politically correct as we can be and yet people are still complaining. I don't know if anyone has noticed but if things continue on this track, white people will be the minority in America.

ill admit I'm racist,I'm racist against anybody in any race that contributes to the decline of society with senseless violence and refusing to raise families that they create, that includes everyone, not just one race, everyone has the potential to go to jail,be poor.drugs are illegal because the government has not figured out a way to make big money on them yet, society in general is designed to keep minorities and the poor down,so your statement," And why are so many african americans poor? It's because of racist white people. The government doesn't care either and sadly, it's full of racists.",is somewhat true, but is not exclusive to blacks.blacks are not the only race living in extreme poverty.

From my white guy's perspective about 1/3 of white Americans are truly racist, 1/3 are closet racists, and 1/3 are not racist. The truly racist are mostly uneducated morons (although some of them manage to log onto YA occasionally) and so there's not too much you can do about them. The closet racists aren't really that heinous...they just haven't interacted too much with people of color and so they feel awkward round them.
For this interested in race relations, I encourage them to do two things:
1.) take the Harvard-based Project Implicit test on the internet. Not surprisingly even liberal white people like me subconsciously prefer white over black. Surprisingly, blacks also prefer white over black, albeit less intensely than whites. We Americans have all been raised in a racist society and it affects everyone not just whites.
2.) Rent "The Real Eve" a science video about the human diaspora from Africa....very mind blowing.

I don't know it's just a guess, but I'd say you have some serious anger issues..
"White People" , only "White People" huh?
You'll forgive me I hope but you have just come off as a huge racist.. Sounds to me like you are angry at yourself for ability to hate "White People".
We are all created equal in the eyes of the lord, and I can't imagine who elses eyes we'd be worried about.
Though sadly you are right, there are many haters out there, which is why our world is in the mess it is in.
Wouldn't it be nice if we did not have to concern oursleves with these types of issues?
If you ever pick up a bible turn to to the book of John, I am sorry I don't have the exact verse, but in it says.
"As, I have loved you, love one another"
Be Happy, and enjoy day.. worry only about how you treat people, and what you think of people. Live by the Golden Rule...
Good Luck to you

If want to be pissed off, go right ahead. But while you're at it, read "Why We Believe What We Believe," by Andrew Newberg. It contains an interesting discussion of the possible biological roots of xenophobia.
I would also suggest that being "pissed off at all the racist whites" may be a rather simplistic response to a very complex problem.
