Its a older unit, had been working fine, about a week ago it started this. Vaccumed and cleaned contacts with emery cloth.

Depending on the type of furnace you have, it seems to me that the fan switch is bad. You said you have an older furnace, so if it has a pilot light and not a electronic ignition system, usually the fan switch is separate. It uses a probe to sense heat, and when the heat is built up enough in the heat exchanger, the switch closes and the fan runs until the heat cools off in the heat exchanger and the fan switch opens and shuts the fan off. Now if it has a electronic ignition system, the fan is probably on a timer built into the circuit board. The way to fix this is to replace the circuit board. You say you hear a click, so the fan switch is working, but no power to the fan. You can leave the fan on ON at the t-stat until you get it fixed. Hope this helped! Good luck!
