what is your views on spanking your children ?

Mrs. Bri , please learn to read before you get a job at a daycare.. the word I used was " SPANK " . Nobody said nothing about "beating " or " abusing " or "bruising" ...

It should be allowed because many kids are brats and need a good old fashion *** whopping, time outs don't work.

There are times nothing but a pop is going to do it. I always said I would never spank my kids. Things changed and quick. Sometimes you have no other choice. Talking doesn't work. Look at the kids today. If a parent does it right the 1st go around about the age of 3 and pop hands and say no no in a few month you can look at them and they will stop. Then you never have to spank. I was spanked and I'm fine.

If you have a child who is misbehaving, I think the best way to handle it is by first giving a warning, secondly either sending them to their room or in time out. If the behavior doesn't stop then sometimes spankings are needed. Never spank your child in public, it's a personal thing that should be done in your own house. There's a difference between spanking and abuse, and as long as you don't cross the line, it is an acceptable form of punishment.
I say this because my mom spanked me growing up and I remember trying to be good so I wouldn't have to go through it again. I respected her for her ways of dealing with my behavior.

I think it is my right as a parent to spank my own children if need be. Although there should be a place and a time for that. I do not think it is the governments business to step in the family discipline UNLESS there is justification to. (abuse)
I have only spanked my children once in their lifetime, but the fact that I have chosen to remove something of their importance is a better punishment....ex: friends, phone, t.v. pc...anything they enjoy doing and having that taken away is punishment in itself.

a young child a swat on the rear is fine. pull the pants down spank i think is more likely to result in the child remembering the spanking but what the reason was no idea.
i was spanked pull the pants down kind in grade one or two and i have no idea why but i do remember getting the spanking.

I grew up getting spanked and beating, so I dont feel as if there is anything wrong with that whenever its appropriate and reasonable. Some kids need that

My parents spanked me when I needed it and it didn't damage my fragile psyche or anything.

I think more people need to spank their kids, especially when they act like little bastards in public. If I'm out shopping or at a restaurant or something, I'm trying to enjoy myself, I really don't want to listen to someone's bratty kid throwing a hissy fit because they didn't get a candy bar or a balloon or whatever.

I think spanking is good in extreme casses..but the best punishment is taking their t.v. out of their room, and cutting bed time in half for a whole month. This means no video games, and cartoons for a month...this is usually very effective

Every child needs a spanking every now and then. If they need, give it. We probably wouldn't have as many problems with our teens if they had been spanked as children when they needed it!

I see nothing wrong with it. I got my butt spanked when I was a kid. If my kids misbehave or don't listen they get their butt spanked. I don't beat them but I get my point across.
