i'm looking for a inexpensive acoustic guitar just to learn how to play on.....any suggestions on a brand, size, type, etc. i want a guitar that isn't too big because i'm a pretty small person and a guitar that just sounds good but if it doesn't have the best sound than that's okay because, like i said, i'm just gonna learn on it and will probably buy a better one once i can actually play good enough

You should not learn on a bad instrument, that will slow down your progress a lot. I don't know what "expensive" means for you, but you can buy some Fenders for $200 - $300, and make sure you check out Yamaha guitars, they are known for good quality at all price ranges. I'd spend $350 for an Ibanez EW (exotic woods) model, but if that is too much, then yuour cheapest shot is Jasmine by Takamine at $99 at musiciansfriend.com.

P.S. puffalump must be one of those rich spoiled brats - Taylors I know are upward of $800...

best thing to so is goto the local music store - tell them you want a student guitar - how you have to spend
they are there to help and want you to come back when your ready for something better.

dont worry about the brand name - it needs to feel comfortable in your hands more than anything else

this way you can sit and hold it before you buy and not rush into anything - some might even have used guitars kicking around worth looking at.
check the for sale ads in the local paper
check local pawn shops you might find something really nice at afraction of the cost of new

Hmmm... i'd desire to agree on the Yamaha type being consistent with their fashions of beginner and intermediate guitars over the various years considering I even have been taking part in. between the appropriate deals around. learn them with Ibanez or perhaps Takamine, and their lesser type line of Jasmine guitars. and then anticipate to spend that $one hundred - $250 a minimum of on your first guitar it is comfortable sufficient to play, and sound a million/2-way good. yet, gee whiz, that's the 1st time i've got study any constructive testimonial on Fender acoustics. not purely lots of around here discourage them as any genuine worth, yet I even have yet to experience a type that selection into even comfortable to play, not to show properly made and priced thus. Overpriced and overstated. And a 50-50 danger of finding a suitable unit. yet its been merely approximately a year considering I (even troubled to) have picked one up and tried the Fender line of acoustic guitars. i'd desire to be incorrect.

Fender, is a cheaper guitar, good for beginner beginners bu;t I don't recomend it. Taylor is the best! I have one they are not way expensive and they are the perfect size for women or girls because they are 7/8's the size of a full accoustic guitar. Taylor is highly recommended!!!!I have one they sound GREAT!

if u have any flea-markets ( large second hand stores ) around ur area , try going there . there's usually music sections there . once u get there u can probably test them out ( for size and sound ) . u can also ask the clerk for other questions ( about brands or any other questions ) .
hope this helped u out .
have a nice day .
bye

You may want to go to a local music store like guitar center(guitarcenter.com ) and speak with a sales person .

I recently bought a classical guitar from them for $99.00 and it fits my needs for something to practice with .
Good luck !
