it aint happening dude
Tata had a micro light car made as a prototype but that itself was for close to 1.75 , it was all fiberglass
and more important that promise was made 5-6 yrs back. since then value of 1lac is close to 75000. so things aint the same

the pics which sreeDHAR has posted is not the 1-lakh car 4rm tata, its the Tata Indiva whose cost is around 14 lakhs. for seeing the 1-lakh car 4rm tata, see December Autocar India edition. and its rolling out in 2009.

it just a brain washing offer,it not possible to launch 1 lakh car on our Indian market. like before we heard lot rumour.

dont hold your breath waiting for it to happen. they havent even settled on a place to make it yet.
Tata's makes periodic announcements just to stop the market from making some other purchase. You are btter off picking up a second hand Maruti
