You can go to http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T-Series&model=T3508
to get the specifications for your system.

Your computer has an integrated video card, but also has a slot for an card available: ATI Radeon® X300-based integrated graphics
Up to 128MB of shared video memory
PCI-Express® (PCI-E x16) slot available

Make certain that the video card you purchase is a PCI-E card and you should be fine. (Though sometimes the power supplies that come with computers these days aren't strong enough to handle the real monster video cards).

As to whether or not you'd go for an FX5200 GT. Ouch. The only ones I can find are AGP cards. They _won't_ work in your system. That's an old card anyway, and probably not that much better than your integrated X300 graphics.

Get at least a 6600GT or above.

nVidia Geforce FX 5200 GT was made with AGP or PCI interface. Your board has an available PCI-Express x16 slot for video cards.

If you look at the documentation for the graphic card, it will tell you the required specifications, such as: operating system, RAM, hard drive space,...etc.
