I have received an e-mail saying micro soft and aol picked my name and that I have

Of course it is a hoax. If they were going to give a million dollars in a contest they would have ads all over the place telling how to enter the contest and saying they are great for having it.
It is probably either an ID thief looking for your bank account info or a twisted friend who realized you would fall for that.

Ask yourself. Did I enter a contest for AOL? Microsoft? You got to play to win. Did you enter?
I think you get the point. If you did not enter, you did not win.
