I am running a MAC os X
so as the q? says my hardrive fell off my desk it has all my music on it, and Itunes will still reconive it and plays all the music off of it, but when i try to actually access the hardrive it takes about 5 min for it to open up. i try to do a disk repair but my computer says
the volume Untitled 1 needs to be repaired.

what can i do?
buy a new drive? this will be the second time in 5 months.....

Two suggestions, both for after you buy the new hard drive. Backup files on that drive. Stop being so clumsy about dropping the disk onto the floor - the third time is not a charm.

Drives are pretty cheap these days. If you dropped it and it started doing that right afterwards, than it's a physical problem. You don't repair HDs. They're not worth the cost. You're VERY lucky that you're able to access the files. Get them off the drive and back them up to DVDs or your internal HD, ASAP.

You can send it to some place to repair it, but I don't know how successful that might be.
