You are having a hard time apologizing to them because you do not want to face the music for lieing and getting something done to your body that you knew that they did not approve of. Nothing is worse for a parent then to find out about one of your children through other people that are not in family. I guarantee your mother was embarrassed. You owe her a really big apology and next time make sure something like this stays in family first.
My dad always liked it best when I walked up to him and faced him like a man and told him what I did and apologized. Yes I might have gotten some form of punishment but it was never as bad as if I had sneaked around and tried to hide something. I learned after awhile to just face him and get it over with.
You did not ask about this but I am saying something anyway. Neither my wife nor I have tattoos. Both of our children got them when they were in High School and to this very day they both regret it. I am not saying that it is wrong but it is a reflection of how you are brought up raised and if your older family members did not get tattoos then one day you will be sorry.

You broke a trust and with parents that's big. Depending on how old you are since you can't get it removed the only thing you can do is to let them know you're sincerely sorry. Then make sure you don't break faith with them again. Parents are your support and you need them more then you need a tattoo.

Just tell them you are sorry and when you say that mean it. One thing to do if you really want a tattoo get those temporary ones and ask your folks what they think about that. They are probably hurt more than anything, it will take some doing but no matter what they will always love you.

Depending on your age if your over 18 don't worry about it. If you are under 18 in most states it wasn't legal to get one without your parents consent. Regardless apologize and forget it the damage is done.

it is easier to beg for forgiveness then to ask for permission. i found that i dissapoint me parents a lot, i have revolvers tattooed on my hips and boobie rings to name a few, they just learned that i am an individual and accepted i can make my own stupid mistakes, yeah its hard now, just try not to screw up again for a while ive had my parents loose trust in me twice in the same week before it sucked. just remember it will get better

you could do every single thing they ask you, right away. Don't lie to them from now on. Don't wear clothing that show off your tattoo. Do extra chores. Don't ask them for anything, money, rides, etc (if you can't drive...) try to be happy, and tell them your sorry.

Just tell them you're sorry, and you realize now that you should have checked with them or mentioned it to them before you did it. Tell them you won't be that inconsiderate again. That they shouldn't have to learn stuff about their own daughter from others. They'll forgive you. What's done is done.
