I make sure to go to fall asleep early so that I can get a full 8 hours of sleep, I don't drink caffiene in the evening, I don't use sleeping pills (when I do, it's even harder to wake up), and I have 3 alarms, yet I can never wake up. I will get up and turn off my alarms / press the snooze button, but I can never remember doing it and it feels like I have no control over my body in the morning, like being able to force myself out of bed and in the shower. I don't know what else to do, any advice on how I can wake up in the morning?

This hasn't been a problem in the past, even when I only got a few hours of sleep, but it has been happening for almost a month now. I'm not just getting 8 hours of sleep, I'm getting 10 - 12 and missing work.

My alarm clocks are spread all over my room so that I do get out of bed to turn them off, I'll set my alarms so that, if I wake up, I get 7 1/2 - 8 hours (which shouldn't be too much, though the 10-12 i get since I dont wake up is), and I definitly know I'm not pregnant. All good advice, but it doesn't really help me.

Geez, I feel like I wrote that question cause it explains me also. I wake up exhausted and am more tired than when I go to bed and I have about 8 -10hrs every night. My wife tells me I thrash back and forth when I sleep and arms and knees get combative and jerky.
She puts a a barrier of pillows between her and mefor protection. I went to a sleep apnexia doctor about my sleeping disorders and they monitor oxygen intake, put electrodes on you,ect.. He also told me not to sleep on my back b/c my tongue could slide deep back into my throat and I could suffocate. I never could afford the $3,000 for the lab and test but I do have too rest an hour to two hours after I wake up in the morining. I too can not function or be on time in the morning. It seems like I never want to go to bed but I don't want to ever wake up. You stop to think about it, how would you know if you ever died when you were sleeping? It would really be a peaceful way of going.
Good Luck Sleepy Head.

My advice is to put your alarm clock far away from your bed so if you want to turn it off you have to get up and turn it off. It usually works.
