I am a Mexican living in the Netherlands, and my best experience this Christmas was to celebrate it in Mexico.
I haven't been back in Mexico for 3 years, because of my divorce from my Dutch ex-husband, which was a really tough one.
So, after 3 years of not being back, I finally travelled to Mexico City and spent those days with my whole family (except my daughter, who didn't get the permit from her father, arrggh, and had to stay in the Netherlands with him).
But I was able to be with the people I love the most after my daughter, who are my mother and my brother.
I met for the first time the second daughter of my brother who was born 8 months ago, and I had the opportunity to share very nice moments with my cousin (also daughter of my brother) who is now 3 years old, who I saw for the last time when she was just born.
Yes, this Christmas was really special.
And well, the story about not having my daughter with me is not that bad, because I got the signed permit of her father for going back to Mexico next summer, so I am really looking forward for that.

Just being with family and friends. A lot of people can't say that. So I'm glad I was blessed to.
