Midol is good for cramps, as well as Advil or Motrin. If you are having more than just cramps then you need to see a Doctor. Painful periods could mean more.

Take advil as soon as you think your period is going to start. Be sure to tell your gyne that you have period pain, it could be a sign of endometriosis and can be treated with birth control pills.

I have tried advil and it worked for me. But have you consulted a doctor about it? I know a friend who has pains during her period and there was something wrong with her. see the doctor so that you are sure that there is nothing wrong. good luck!

I try to take two ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, etc.) pills as soon as I feel it coming on. And try the ThermaCare Heatwrap for cramps. It's a patch you can wear for up to eight hours. :-)
