You do know that time, sometimes called 'little England' never existed and never will.
The fact is England has always been a country with prejudices, the first pogrom of the Jews took place in York in the 13th century.
It has always been a country of exploitation and poverty. Ask the Irish about Cromwell, and ask yourself why Marx identified England as the place where revolution was most likely to happen.
There are great things about England...we make some of the best music the world has heard and have been doing so for a very long time. This is a beautiful country with areas like the lake district that can match any scenery in Europe at least.
Crime will always be with us...that is unless we become such a brutal society that all crime is rewarded with the death penalty?...but who would want to live in a country like that?...

Hey listen everybody. America is the greatest country in the
world, given the fact, that long lost immigrants, built this
place in no time. And we overcame trial and tribulation, during
the Civil War, as well as assasianations of our beloved,
presidents and leaders. And we are not even 300 years old,
still a growing country. The best is yet to come. America
will never die....

"This" country?
Well, there 312 countries in the world....
And what era was this in England?
I doubt there's ever been a truly "Golden" age in any country where no-one was wanting or under-privileged or hungry...

You do not mention which country are you referring to. But if you are talking about the USA my answer would be yes, provided your present president and his eventual successor decide to refrain from any more absurd wars and concentrates on its own prosperity and what it implies.

We could be GREATER if people stopped trying to blame everything on the federal government. Stop expecting housing, food stamps, and welfare to be a multi-generational thing. IT'S TEMPORARY! Stop trying to demand everthing in your hand NOW!
