This can be due to many reasons including cervical dysplasia, chlamydia, gonorrhea, vaginitis or cervicitis, cervical polyps, trichomoniasis, yeast infection, endometriosis or adenomyosis, uterine polyps, and fibroids. The only way to know for sure exactly what is going on is to see your doctor for an exam and testing.

Where do these people get their knowledge/information.
It is not unusual to bleed once in awhile after having sex.
Sometimes it is because you engaged a little rougher than usual or perhaps your partner was a little larger than your body was use to. . . both of these can manipulate the uterus and can disrupt the lining where menstral blood is stored until your next period.
If bleeding is a sign of problems as some suggest then they are saying that if you notice blood after a pap smear or vaginal exam. . .you might have problems like polyps, cervical cancer etc? WRONG!
Now if this is some really major bleeding and doesn't slow up I would see a Dr.
For this to happen once after sex does not mean that there is a problem but if in the future this happens maybe repeatedly I would recommend that you see a Dr.
If bleeding after sex mean fertilization implantation I have to wonder. . . I never bled at conception so does that mean I really didn't get pregnant. . . 2 miscarriages and 3 kids later would argue that point.

If your last menses was two weeks ago then you are at your most fertile time of the month, the day of ovulation. If you did not use some type of birth control then there is a chance that you may be pregnant. The blood could be for a number of reasons but I wouldn't be concerned about it. Sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy should however concern you. Please go to a doctor and get on birth control if you don't want to become pregnant. Always carry condoms in your purse just in case you decide to have sex again. Be careful! Please consider abstinence until you are in a monogamous, meaningful relationship. If you feel sexually aroused, try masturbation, it is so much safer. Always respect yourself.

Since you had unprotected sex you may or may not be pregnant and may and may not have picked up a STD - but that wouldn't explain the bleeding the following morning. You may have been hurt internally when you had sex. In any event, you really ought to get checked by a doctor as bleeding like that is not normal. And, for future relations, always ensure the guy uses a condom as protection to avoid possible pregnancy and STDs.

Bleeding has nothing to do with being pregnant - at least not that early on.
Maybe it was just rough sex and your vaginal wall was torn a little. Were you drunk? If you were maybe you couldn't tell it was rough or hurting a little. Maybe he was large and your vagina was bunker-busted (stretched/banged out of shape).
Word or advice: Don't allow men to have sex with you without a condom when it's a one night stand and you hardly know them. Forget the bleeding. You could wind up with herpes which never goes away or even worse AIDS which can kill you. Allowing him to finish inside you is even dumber since then you could end up being pregnant with a bad case or herpes and AIDS on top of it. Using a condom is not that hard. Be smart.

You may have had a tear in the vaginal wall. You can bleed a little after becoming pregnant, this is implantation bleeding, but it would not have happened that quick. If you continue you to bleed after then see a Doctor

Listen to nurse Annie, and visit your doctor.
Pregnancy is the least of your worries. Babies are a blessing. Aids, HPV (which can cause cervical cancer), Babies can be adopted, some STD's stick with you for life. Wait till you are married before having sex again. Condoms are not 100% safe.

i would guess you had some vaginal tearing but nothing serious check with the Dr. if you concerned. has the bleeding continued, or was it just for that morning. you know it is possible to have more than one cycle per month, being on the pill and smoking can cause a period every two weeks every month. good luck

why dont you go to a doc and ask. or go on webmd and see what is the reason behind it.
I hope it is nothing major like pregnancy.
I have never heard bleeding to show pregnancy.
It also depends on how much blood it was, maybe he had a big one, and basically it opened up more space which caused the bleeding.

It mens he was either very big and/or rough and.or you didn't have enough lube OR it could indicate a mild infection on your part which made it easier for you to bleed, like what nurse annie said.
@ what Mightmo said about mittleschmerz.... that only causes slight cramping, NOT bleeding
