Before, I thought I pulled my adductor muscles, but now I think I pulled my hip flexor. I was skating a week and a half ago. It felt pretty good a week ago so I took a little too much advil and skated. I did fine but when I got in the car to go home, it was worse then it was before. It still is lingering and its not as bad. I can run and walk perfectly. I can skate switch fine, which means I use opposite feet to perform the same movements. I need to go back into my sport because I am in the process of going professional. What can I do and in what period of time can I heal this?

I did not fall on it. It is definitely a pull.

If you are in the process of going professional in your sport, you need to have this taken care of by medical professionals. Go to an orthopaedic doctor for an examination and an accurate diagnosis. Your body and health is very important - more so in professional sports. This injury could haunt your career if not taken care of appropriately.

The ortho may recommend diagnostic tests (XRAY, MRI) to help make the diagnosis. There will be several options for treatment: Anti-inflammatory medication, cortisone shot, rest, activity modification, physical therapy, or worst case scenario - surgery.

Good luck.
