Okay, so I know that frequent urination is common--I normally have to urinate a lot and always have since I can remember---so even starting in early preg. I had to urinate a lot. But, I had a weird experience and I was wondering if anyone knew why this happened, or had it happen. I am currently in week 15. So, last night all of a sudden I felt like I had to go really, really bad, so I ran to the bathroom and nothing came out. It didn't hurt or burn, just nothing came out. I left the bathroom and within 5 minutes, I felt the same. It was so urgent feeling that it was as if I would pee my pants if I didn't go, but again nothing came out. This happened over and over for about 2 hours and then once I went and it was like a flood gate--and a relief that I finally urinated. After that it didn't happen again. I have ruled out kidney stones or bladder infection--no pain at all and it went away, so...any ideas?
Would the baby have been big enough to cause this? Maybe in a weird position?

That usually happens because your uterus is pinching off your uthera making it hard for you to "go." Once it moves (you can try to push it over yourself) you're able to go again. If its is a frequent problem I'd talk to your doctor about it.

It could be a combination of factors. First of, urinary infections do not have to have pain associated with them. I've had many during my pregnancy ( I'm 27 weeks along) and none have had pain and none have even had the wierd smell that I usually associate with bladder infections. The doctor found them all on her own without me even knowing I had one. All I had was the frequency to pee, which I thought was attributed with the pregnancy. My first sign of pregnancy was the urgency to pee. All of my infections sound exactly like what you are doing. I would run to the bathroom thinking I was about to wet my pants and little to nothing came out.

Another issue you could be having (that I'm also experiencing now) is where the baby is sitting. She'll be directly on top of my bladder some days and I can barely get to the bathroom. On one day (I'm ashamed to admit this) I sneezed on two seperate occasions and had to change my underware. Luckily I was home because of the recent winter storm that hit the Seattle area.

I would let your doctor know your concerns. When is your next appointment? If it is in the next week, I would just bring the concern up with your doctor then, since this isn't an issue that is life threatening. If it's three to four weeks away, I might give your doctor a call. It could very well just be the baby's position and there is nothing they can do about it or it could be a bladder infection and you'll get a fun antibiotic (mine turns my urine green and causes nausea...but I had so much morning sickness last time I took it that I honestly don't know if the nausea took place at all.)

Sounds like the baby is pushing on your bladder in such a way that you have to go, but the flow is cut off. I did this also, but not until later in my pregnancy. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it keep happening or there is pain at any point. Good luck with the new arrival!!

Urinary tract infections feel different during pregnancy. You should go to the doc and have them do a test for this just incase. Also, your bladder is being pushed on by the baby giving you the urge to go. It will get worse.

maybe the baby was sitting right down on your bladder making it feel full. That is very possible. This may be a big baby.....unless there's more than one in there.

even thogh the fetus is small, its still there. the baby probably might have been in an awkward position. as long as there was no pain, i thinkyour fine. just some of the unwanted pregnancy symptoms.

more than likely, you didn't really need to go when you felt you did, he was probably on your bladder, putting pressure there, that made you feel the need to go, then when you did go, you actually had to by then
