about 4.6 billion years. It has been aroun a long time. Back then the Earth was undergoing a huge change, from volcanoes constantly erupting to seas being formed and the atmosphere being developed.

It was 4.6 billion years old when I was taught about it at school and that was 50 years ago so it must be 4.6 billion and 50 now.
