As a former employee, what meant more to me than any gift, was the actual cash. You could give the employees a thank you dinner and hand out envelopes with cash inside. That would mean more to them than a gift basket of something that they would not use, or food products that they dont or cant eat.

People love to see their names in writing. A desk name plaque, personalize license frame, subscription to their favorite magazine; a group trip to some place that your company does allots of business.

I know of a company that told their employee to save a certain weekend. They were told to bring casual clothes, their spouse, no children, and only twenty dollars apiece. They meet at work, and a bus was waiting for them. The boss treated them to a weekend at a near by lodge. This was such a mortal booster for the employees and the company.

One of my favorite books is called '1001 Ways To Reward Your

Yes, get them a free IRS - filing package for them to file electronically for free.

Then give them a bonus for the rest of their money as I believe they earned it. They still have to pay taxes on the $1,000 of good or services they receive from you, and you must add it to their pay for IRS purposes, otherwise both of you will be in trouble.

Employees always need extra cash around income tax time, so that's my best advice for January 2007!

And my congratulations to you on hiring, and honoring your employees, and doing a wonderful job acknowledging their service with rewards. You certainly will attract and keep good people to your business - and it will overflow with more and more sales - this random acts of kindness will make your business overflow - more and more and more!

GOD bless us one and all, always.
