I have to say yes. I remember getting spanked all the time when I was younger. Now that I have a son (2 years old) that keeps testing me, she tells me not to spank him so much. I don't really spank him but I just hit his hand or leg when he's testing me. The thing that gets on my nerves is when he cries, he always runs to her because he knows she will console him. So basically he can get away with anything when he's with grandma.

My parents spanked me, and I don't think I am warped for life because of it. I have a 13 year old daughter now that I have maybe spanked 2 times in her whole life. I don't necessarily think it is something that has to be done if you can get thru to your kids in a different way. I choose not to spank because I remember being afraid of my parents, and I know that was the purpose so you would be so afraid you would not do bad things. I truly think that if the kids want to do bad things they are going to do them if they know they are going to get spanked or not. If they are not afraid of you they may confide in you before they do something bad.

No, they didn't. That would be a way of child abuse. My parents wouldn't do that. My dad was always at work or unable to let himself spank his kids, my brother and me. My mom would discuss my wrongs with me and help me sort them out, but spanking was never a factor. Oh, I'm not a mother yet. I'm sure they wouldn't dig it if I spanked them, which I totally wouldn't!

My parents never spanked us ,but we respected our parents and my dad and mom were strict just one look and you knew not to do it again......I have twin girls they are 6 and I have raised them the same with lots of love and respect ......I do not believe in spanking I believe in taking charge and giving time outs...spanking a child when you are angry can lead to abuse and just what message is this child getting from someone that loves him........children need to feel that they are loved and special and hugged and told they are loved ......kara

my folks spanked me and my brothers till the cows came home when i was a kid, but times have changed, it used to be acceptable to spank you re child in the middle of a store, do it now, and you re looking at child abuse charges.

my parents did alot more than just spank me they used to beat the crap outta me but now if i even yell at him they try to tell me how wrong it is and complain about it and then they'll tell my whole family so i have to hear everybody complain to me the such f uckin hypocrites
