If you don't mind opening your up laptop there are always places selling replacement laptop RAM at decent prices. If it is really old it probably uses older cheaper (slower speed) RAM than current machines so the RAM probably sells for cheap on the internet. You could either put in a new 128Mb in place of the 32Mb or just add more in any empty slots.

Get more than 64Mb which is enough to fit Windows in but not good enough to run any program on it.

If Windows XP NEEDS (not wants) 64mb and you only have 32mb its not going to happen. I suggest you upgrade your laptop or keep the current version of windows...XP isn't all that..neither is windows at all come to think of it...

To be honest I'd think of replacing the laptop. You'll need a lot more RAM than that, and I doubt if your machine will accommodate it. If it does, it will struggle elsewhere.

Windows XP will not run reliably with less than 256MB RAM. 512MB is better. If you want to do anything involving graphics, video, photos don't even try with less.

WTF!!! Dude, you cannot run windows XP on 32mb of ram. You will barely be able to run windows 95! If you want to run windows XP you gotta have at least 256 MB of ram, and even then, its going to run slow as hell.

your descrition of your computer leads me to believe it,s an iron lung, not capable of doing more than simple programs, its probably to old to upgrade, why not down load a newer linux vesion for free, most are designed to run with minimal memory and can use slow processors, lots of free games and software that won,t crash your comp!http://distrowatch.cz/
