Women who have been pregnant, I would really appreciate your answers!! My symptoms: I am on Yasmin (BC) usually my period is like clockwork, virtually to the hour or time of day, with same consistency every mo.-heavy 2 days, med 1 day, light 1 day. Coincidentally, the day my period was to start was 11 days after "the opportunity". It did not start on time, usually 4 am that morning and very heavy, but instead it was just like three drops and late that night. Heavy the next day, then disappeared. Today is what would usually be the third, or med- flow day but still nothing. So it's different than usual. I'm extremely tired, had headache for 3 days, no breast tenderness (but never have noticed any, even around my periods), and can't sleep at night but tired and feel hot inside my body. So hot I can't sleep recently. Usually I am always cold. Could i be pregnant or is this silly and just the flu? I would appreciate your input as well as what you know to be symptoms of pregnancy. ThkU

The chances of pregnancy is around 0.1% while taking the pills. Its extremely unlikely but since the timing of intercourse just barely fits with ovulation (if it happened on pills) it could be. I would take a pregnancy test now and maybe in a week or so just for piece of minds.

Its probably is just variation. Its normal to have variation in your menstral cycle, even if its been regular for a few months.

It could be the effects of a viral syndrome like the flu.

You might want to get a test just to be on the safe side....but generally speaking, your period can be thrown off for many reasons including; stress, fatigue, illness, anxiety, and excessive exercise. The thing with systems of pregnancy is that many of them are the same symptoms you have when you start your period, and some women have no symptoms at all! Considering your on the pill you don't want to take any chances! Yas is a fairly new contraceptive, so I don't know the risk of birth defects. Good luck to you.... ;)

just because your period is a couple of hours or a couple of days late its really not much to worry about. there are so many things that can throw your cycle off - weather, stress, diet - the real question here is have you had unprotected sex? then yes you could be pregnant but if your still having something for a period i really wouldnt worry about it

You'd have to do a pregnancy test to find out if you're pregnant. People on BC can still get pregnant, in 0.11% chance. Higher if you have missed doses or were sick or have eaten things / food / medication that interacts with BC.

Of course, it could just be that you're sick, and so the cycle is somewhat affected.

I think it's stress. Are you going through a stressful time? because once my period was late for over a week only because i had my finals. try to relax and excersize and for now get a pregnancy test to make sure.

Get a test hun. May be stress or a number of other factors. Only one way to be sure. Take a test. Good luck.
