Yes I have a few times. It's horrible. The best thing to do is just wait it out and buy bottled water for a day or two.

Not yet. It has been below zero here where I live for the past week. I let my faucets "drip" at night so that my pipes don't freeze.

No, but use a blow dryer to thaw them out. Or a "heat lamp" will work well too.
