He has a good team behind him. He's not one of the top 5 goalies though.

I think he will continue to get better. He is relatively young as goalies go and has improved his game each year so I see no reason it wont continue to get better. He very well could be the next elite goalie as he developes, he is a proven big game performer. He won the NCAA title with MSU and by time he was a senior he was so dominant that most teams felt they had no chance to beat him. Now that the Sabres have put a solid team around him everyone will get a chance to judge him come playoff time (the only time that truly matters) and my guess is he is capable of leading his team to a Stanley Cup very soon. That will determine how good he will be veiwed by the hockey world but having watched him grow up from a skinny, awkward 18 year old until now I see no reason he wont be among the games best for the next several years. I also predict he will be Team USA's best chance at winning a medal in the next Olympics, I think he has passed Dipietro as the #1 goalie for Team USA.

Ryan Miller is def a good goalie and will i think be a top 10 in the nhl given some time. he's got the team in front of him and he's got the talent. i'm an MSU fan and i loved him then which is part or the reason i support him now but yes Ryan Miller will probly end up being the best American Hockey goalie of his time i wouldnt say of all time i dont see him being better then mike richter but who knows i'm a ranger fan so i dw him to be better than mike but yes i think you'll have a few good years of success in buffalo thanks to ryan and i cant wait to see him starting in net for USA instead of rick D who is way over rated and just not a good goalie especially in the olympics

Miller is better than his stats say. And the scary thing is he will only get better the next couple years before hitting his peak.
Most of the goals he gives up are screen shots and rebounds the defense doesn't clear. He's a good puck handling goalie, so that is a plus. Also, look at shootouts. That speaks more of how good he is than game stats do, becuase it is 1-on-1.

Ryan Miller gets better every year. He is dominant. He should get 75% of the credit for the Sabres being the top team that they are. He's 25 or 26 years old, he is just coming into his prime. He has many great years ahead of him.

Ryan Miller is a good goalie who has the potential to be the greatest American-born netminder in hockey history. He will either be Mike Richter (which is much more likely) or Robb Stauber (another Hobey Baker winner, an NHL bust).

ryan miller should not be in the starting line-up for the all-star game. Brodeur should be the starting goalie because he is a 9-time all-star, he's better in every category than miller and he has way more experience. don't get me wrong miller is a good goalie but he only does so good because of buffalo's amazing offensive output

It's very hard to be a solid goaltender in the NHL with the current rules. Way too many calls and power plays currently.
Goals against averages have skyrocketed in the past two year.
