looking for an awesome laptop I stumbled across two processors, the AMD turion 64 tl- 60 (2.0 ghz) and the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 (2.0 GHz) and a lower Intel model which is slightly slower and cheaper of 1.8 ghz.

With past experienses with both of them I found AMD to be faster, but I have no experienses on labtops. Too me the price isn't that big of a factor, which one should I get if the intel 1.8 ghz and the AMD 2.0ghz for laptops are the same price with the Intel 2.0ghz costing an extra 300 bucks?

Both will do the job. AMD is usually better in terms of the price vs performance ratio, but for the laptop processors, I've heard really good things about the Intel Core duos.

I purchased / built my laptop with Intel dual core, because it was out before the turion X2, and because the laptop had everything else I wanted (X1600 video card). But I am very much an AMD fan.

Check out notebookforums.com and notebookreview.com. Read the users discussion forums and you'll see quite a bit of debate on this. You'll see which processors are better for which tasks.

AMD processors are greater useful than Intel's. however the contemporary middle 2 Duo is popping out to be a greater useful processor. So, decide for middle 2 Duo extremely than middle Duo or decide for AMD twin middle, that's greater useful than middle Duo. even with the undeniable fact that, for working MS place of work, any processor might supply greater or much less comparable overall performance with unnoticeable distinction. wish it would help...
