Every penny that you can save it, because you will need it and then some. One good way to get the little things you need is a baby shower. A new baby is very expensive. Also if you don't have a lot of money start looking in the newspaper or go to garage sells or thrift stores to find some of the things you need. Congratulations.

Oh boy your whole life earnings...lol. Well it depends if you plan on paying for their college too. The first year you have all the necissties of diapers, formula, clothing, carseats, child care runs about $150. per week then as they move into their school years you have treat days, clothing, books, extacurriclar sports, music, theatre, christmas, birthdays. So I would say about $5,000 should be a good start. But even with no savings it just always works out. You will learn that the child comes first and the things and lifestyle you might have been used slowly diminishes for awhile anyway. Good luck!!

While you are pregnant go ahead and start stocking up on the expensive stuff now...like diapers and stuff. If you have the room to fill up a closet with diapers...then everytime you go grocery shopping buy a pack of pampers (then tape the grocery receipt to the pack in case the brand ends up not working for you...that way you could trade them for another brand if you had to). I did that with all 3 kids and boy was I thrilled that it was months before I had to buy diapers, wipes, and baby wash.

As far as baby expenses...the big onces are diapers & formula (so breastfeed is possible) but if you must use formula look at programs in your area like WIC (women, infants, & children) they help with formula expenses.

If the mom usually works...then you want to save up about 6 months worth of her salary so she can spend that time home with the baby without worry of not paying the bills (even if she goes back to work sooner...having the nest egg is good if she has to take unpaid leave when baby is sick etc)

There really isn't a magic number...save as much as you possible can...that way if you want to splurge on cute baby clothes you can. But it is possible to have a baby on a tight budget...we always were on one. The stocking up ahead of time is my best tip...

It depends on how good your insurance is and how generous your relatives are. But the hospital expenses are horrendous, plan on almost monthly checkups, shots, tons of diapers, formula, and lots of furnature. You might start doing rummage sales because most baby toys are only used for a short time and clothing sizes change every two or three months.

let me tell you...they are EXPENSIVE!!! our bill for all the prenatal appointments and hospital bills with insurance is going to be close to $8000.00. Baby expenses start before they are born. if you are going to buy the baby basics for a nursery (hopefully youll get them at the baby shower) that can be a lot too! our total for the nursery (and i mean basic cheap stuff) is about $1500.00. Then once you have the baby you have to buy it clothes, food, diapers., health insurance....it is ALOT! I would say save every penny! Good luck!

Thats a loaded question. You have to figure diapers every week. Formula, every day. Different clothing and bedding needs, and don't forget the doctor charges. You know, even the Bible says to "...count the cost", and its a good thing you are. They cost plenty. :)

tooo expensive for you if you asking. what ideas do you have as to how much they cost? it never ends, the expenses just keep coming and coming and coming. and it'll get even more expensive once they start to grow and grow and grow. so hopefully, you already have money put aside. cause then theres college and on and on and on.

Every dollar to your name. Money is no longer yours when you have children. You are always turning around to buy something they need.
