I have to say that the sweetest song ever was done by the Ronnettes, or Ronnie Spector (as she went on to be a solo act)

"Be My Baby" is from the 1960's, and the famous line from it is also featured in the Eddie Money song "Take me Home Tonight". It tells a story - very simply - about falling in love and telling the world. Isn't that the sweetest gesture you can make, in the name of love? To shout it from the rooftops?

My wife is Chinese, and when we were courting, she use to ask me to sing her a song. I'd always sing this one to her. She didn't know enough English to understand the words, but she liked that I would make the effort. Now, after we've been married for a while, she knows that was being sneaky. I was telling her that I loved her, in the worst rendition of the song ever - I was shouting it from the rooftops...

For You by Charlie Wilson

..for you i'd give a lifetime of stability,
anything you want of me
nothing is impossible for you,
there are no words or ways to show my love
and all the thoughts i'm thinking of
coz this life is no good alone
since we've become one, i made a change
everything i do now makes sense
all roads end
all i do
is for you..

'Remember When', by Alan Jackson. He wrote it for his wife after he cheated on her, asking for her forgiveness. Every time I hear it, I cry.
