Sample.com is a domain and does have an MX record. However, there is no response from an SMTP server at that record so my guess is that it's either off-line or there is no mail server there any more.

If the address you have is valid it doesn't matter what service your e-mail is with. But based on my testing I'd say that there is no mail server there any more so you're not going to be able to send any e-mail to that address.

Sample.com is not an email address. An email address must be in the form xxx@xxx.yyy.

Do you own "sample.com"? If so - email me, and I can help you setup the email for it!
