On my Toshiba there is a slide switch on the front of it to activate wireless, so best read the manual that came with your laptop.

You would have to be specific about the type of laptop you have. You can get that information from the manual, and if you don't have that handy you can find it online under support, or services on the manufacturers website of the laptop.

Read the docs. All models are different. On my Dell D800 it's Fn+F2.
