It depends on what you are looking for out of your QB. If you are a team that needs someone to step up right away then I would say Brady Quinn is the best for that situation....he is the most polished QB coming out his draft. He is a player that has been groomed and is ready now for the NFL pressure and has the skills to help a team now. However, if you are a team looking for a QB of the future with the highest potential...but don't need him right away...then I would have to say JaMarcus Russell. Russell has the highest upside of any of the QBs in the draft...he is athletic, strong, and smart...but he is not as polished as Quinn. Now if you are a team that is looking for a high potential player but need the help now as well...I would consider Troy Smith...he can make a big impact both now and in the future but I don't think he will be as good as Russell in the long run

What I have found to be true is this one simple fact: It doesn't matter who they are or how "good" they are, but it DOES matter what system they played under. The biggest three questions the NFL needs to answer when they draft QB"s are this: 1) If we want immediate impact, does thesystem and personnel we have in place match (or is similar to) the system they used in college; or, 2) If we don't, are we willing to either employ that style and get the people around him to make it work; or, 3) If we choose not to, do we think the QB has the "moxie/mojo" to fit our system. Think about it, you wouldn't want a "running QB" in a drop-back passing offense. If you employ a West Coast offensive scheme, you would want a QB who is accurate, and makes quick reads, and arm strength becomes less of an issue due to shorter routes. In other words, a QB's success has as much to do with the system he was in as his "talent". Smart coaches look for the best fir for their scheme and personnel regardless of their hype and/or talent. The question should never be brought up of "who was/is the best", it should be,"Now... would Brady Quinn work better in this team's scheme or that one's." By the way, Brady, while very talented, got slobberknockered just like Troy Smith did, but it doesn't make him any less a Top 10 or 5 pick in the draft. It did expose his weakness, just as Troy Smith's weaknesses were exposed. I just hope that whatever team picks up whoever, they take what I said into consideration.

I believe the best quarterback ready to start there rookie year would have to be JaMarcus Russel. I know people may say Brady Quinn but look what happened to Brady in his Senior year. He played 4 teams ranked in the top 25 and he lost to 3 of them. He didn't just loose he got creamed by opposing defenses. Brady is awful under pressure and in the NFL defenses are bigger and faster. Now some may say Troy Smith the heisman winner. But look what he did the the National Championship. He is to small of a quarter back to make a difference. So that is why I believe JaMarcus is going to have the biggest impact in his organization.

Let me just telll everyone that there is no way it is Troy Smith. He cannot play at all, he will be the biggest bust ever and he is going to go in 2nd round or later. Quinn will make the most immediate impact with his leadership, but the most talented is JaMarcus Russell. Brian Brohm and Trent Edwards (Stanford) are very good too, but I'm going to say Russel and Quinn depending on what you mean by best.

JaMarcus Russell. His performance in the Sugar Bowl proved why he is above the rest. He is strong and mobile. He will need some work at the next level but I think time will tell he will be the best out of this draft class.

it's brady quinn, i think when you have an nfl experienced guy(weis-who's knowledge of pro offenses speaks for itself) coaching you for two years, and says(even after the sugar bowl) quinn's "going to be one of the top 5 QB's in the league in a few years," that you can't discredit that coming from weis. and i'm sure there's no bias there ;)
