I went to a catholic chuch for the first time in october. the father or priest or whoever was going down the aisles greeting ppl. well he gets to this mom who's sitting on the left. her little boy no older than six in the middle, and his sister under ten on the end. not only did the priest just reach out to the little boy and shake his hand, but he smiled and him and tussled his hair, never once did he acknowledge his mother or sister. things that make me go hummmm

Ok, first of all not ALL priests sexually abuse little boys. Secondly, how on earth is shaking a kid's hand sexual contact? It's sad how some people's actions suddenly impact other people just because they have the same job. Yes, some priests did that, but not all priests are that low and sick.

Your question (statement) insists that ALL catholic priests are ABUSING little boys. That is untrue and has been proven. Ther is an extremely small percentage of priests that are guilty. DON'T MAKE ERRORENOUS STATEMENTS like that.

I have personally know a priest that supposedly abused a boy 30 years ago and no one knew about it. He went on to become a great priest, well recognized in his city, helped numerous people that needed assistance, volunteered in nursing homes etc and was well liked. A man came forward and insisted that he was abused by the same priest about 30 years ago. He could not prove anything and the priest insisted that nothing happened. The then boy was from a home where he was abused and the priest tried to help. The final results was that priest was 'removed' from his duties, foreced to retire and the church paid the 'boy' many thousands of $$$$ for his supposedly abuse.
That is very sad but also true.

You need to go to Church more often. It is not uncommon for a priest to place his hand a child's head. The priest is blessing the child, not molesting the child. This is evident in the fact NO ONE -other than you - seemed to think anything malicious was afoot.

"all the Catholic priests" you claim? HARDLY! Only 6% are involved in the clergy sex abuse. Granted, that is 6% too many. But you are hardly doing the fact any justice by claiming "all catholic priests" are part of the sex abuse scandals.

You know they aren't "all" sexually abusing little boys. Fortunately, in today's society, more people are speaking the truth about having been molested and the predators are finally having to be accountable for their actions. But predators come from all walks of life.

It's because people are more willing to talk about this stuff that you are able to notice questionable behavior like what you saw in that church. And, yes, I agree it is a red flag.
