It doesn't hurt. It used to be a painful recovery but these days a lot of surgeries have improved to the point where they have practically become non invasive. When I was in my mid thirties I found that a vasectomy was my best answer and the next day I was walking to the nearest cafe for a cup of Java and interesting conversations with my Friends. Didn't feel any pain at all.
You don't lose any feeling in your sex either. I was told not to engage in sex for a week after the operation and that was the only discomfort I had. Now the doctor I had may have been a good one, because the incision was very small the operation painless, and the aftermath a dull discomfort only for the balance of the day I had the operation. Sexual activities have been a joy for the wife ever since and she's never had to worry about pregnancy.
A hysterectomy is or tied tubes on the other hand is a very painful operation and has far flung consequences and health issues. It is more complicated, more painful, takes more time to recuperate. Get a vasectomy my man! Your wife shouldn't have to go through such troubles when you can do it for a lot less of everything. Less cost, less time, less pain, less recuperation, less complications.
The only thing I balked at was the request to return in three months for a sperm count. I wasn't going to masturbate for a stranger. Medical or not!

you just get a local. It was horrible. I thought I was going to faint. You feel the scalpel slicing into your ball sack. Also they put a plastic bucket under your balls and you can hear the blood dripping in.
You come out walking normally as though everything is fine. 3 days later the bruising comes out and you feel like a horse has kicked you in the stones.
Get a general anaesthetic for gods sake. But do you really need a vasectomy? If you are married, it would be better just not having sex again. And I'm NOT joking.
there is no way I would ever recommend anyone to have a vasectomy. It's far too permanent. The ladies like them of course, but what does THAT tell you? Think very carefully.

I had one about 9 years ago on a Friday morning and was back at work Monday morning like nothing ever happened. The only pain you will feel will be like snatching a hair out down there ONCE and then everything will be numb after that. This is when they give you a shot. After you get home plan on being lazy for a couple of days.Don't do any lifting or allot of walking other than around the house or maybe go out to eat.You will be a little sore but nothing bad. After that you will be ready to do the deed again within a few days.Just remember that you have to ejaculate about 30 times to remove any sperm that may still be in your body so use protection awhile longer.Don't be alarmed if you see traces of blood in your seaman after a few times this is normal so don't freak out it will go away after a couple more play sessions.

A Google search will provide much info for you.
It is not painful at all. Under local anesthetic, you will feel slight pressures of tugging and pulling. It'll be done in 15 to 20 minutes, if even that. You will have to ice the testicles for about a day or two, refrain from heavy lifting and exercise for about a week, then be back in action. You can actually have sex within two days of the procedure.
There are no complications of a vasectomy. The only problems which could occur are a mental issue from men who feel "less of a man" because of the inability to conceive children. If you are completely certain of this procedure, then you shouldn't have any problems. I actually consider it a benefit since you can have sex anywhere, anytime and anyhow without worry of contraceptives.

You take pain killers an hour before you go in. This takes away any anxiety and helps reduce pain. The doc will inject the area with numbing lidocaine which may have a mild burn going in and it may seem liike a small kick to the junk. Other then that, it shouldn't be too bad. Use some frozen pees on it for 24 hours afterwards and you'll be fine.

I got mine 20 years ago. If you have a tatto you have already been though much more pain than you will getting a vasectomy. Now keep in mind that what I am telling you is 20 years old. Today technology will have reduced the recovery time even more.
Don't sweat it!

hi mate Ive had it done i was like you didn't want any more kids and had it done its not that bad or painful and it doesn't take long to do.i even drove home after having it done.just take it easy for a couple of days so the bruise comes out.bit of advice wear tight pants so they don't bounce around,as for what they do its just two small cuts on your ball bag about 1cm long each side, they then cut your tubes and stitch the ends up and sew up your ball bag,and yes you can still come but you wont get anybody pregnant.the last thing you have to do is give a sample after a month just to check its worked.enjoy

I had that done 3 years ago.
First they give you a GIANT VALIUM you take on the way to the Doc. Then you lay down while they shave what you couldn't reach, then the Doc subjects you to 15 minutes of discomfort, groaning and general squeamishness. Then you go home where your wife welds your butt to a recliner for 3 solid days!!!! You get waited on hand and foot and you don't have to do ANYTHING! Afterwards you have to jack off once a week and take it in to some smirking female and say "I'm John Doe and this is my semen" until they write you up with a "clean bill of health"
Then a year later my wife had a hysterectomy.

my husband had one after our third kid and he was a little groggy after the procedure. The first day he was feeling a little tender and mostly dozed. The next day he sat on the recliner with a pouch of frozen peas on his "region" and watched espn. Try and keep the kids away from and off of you! For the most part you'll be occasionally uncomfortable- so just stay iced and pop an advil here or there and I think you'll be ok...thats how it went down for my husband anyway....he was fine. he said peeing was a little scary, fear of the unknown, the first time, but after that he was okay.Plan on recovering in a few days...he went in on Thursday and back to work on Monday so.....hope this helped!

hi,
one of those questions that is almost impossible to answer. it all depends on the quality of the surgeon, your health, ability to recover from what is now a minor operation.
i had mine done 45 years ago and never regretted it. shortly after my wife left me and 4 kids, so glad i had it done before.
good luck, just go ahead.
yomper.
