I'm looking forward for my most awaited and well deserved trip up North of the Philippines next month. That would be on Feb. 15 - 19, 2007.

1. I plan to take the night trip to Banaue, then to Sagada. Is it a good idea?
2. I will be travelling with my bestfriend, just the two of us? is it safe? (fyi, we're on our late 20's)
3. Can anyone suggest a good place to stay in Sagada (affordable, safe and cozy)? We intend to say in Sagada for 2 days and one night, is that enough?
4. We intend to take the night trip on the second night going to baguio, we'll leave sagada around 5pm. Will there still be night life (e.g. KTV) by the time we arrive in Baguio? Can anyone suggest a good place to stay in Baguio?

Thank you so much in advance for any information you will give. It will surely be appreciated!

Hi there! I am from Baguio and have been to Sagada just last November. Well, actually, your plan to get to Sagada is a good choice especially if you are into nature, new culture and adventure.

Well, bus trips to Sagada from Baguio is at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 in the morning and the last trip is at 1:00 in the afternoon. On the way to Baguio, the same schedule is followed.

There are so many good places to go to in Sagada. People usually go there for caving. There are many caves in Sagada but there are two caves open for adventure: the short course and the long course. The short course would take you two hours and the long course would take you four hours. The long course actually is a cave connection. You'd enter a cave opening and come out at another. It takes a lot of courage to go there though. Anyway, it is always necessary to get a guide from Sagada. Guides are everywhere though. Don't worry about the people in Sagada. They are accomodating and they can even recommend guides for you. But before you do that adventurous thing, you must register at the municipal hall for your security.

It's not bad to stay in Sagada for two days and one night for there are really many good places to go to. You can go to other caves such as burial caves and the otheres. Going to Echo Valley is also recommended but not when it is raining because the soil is a lot slippery when it is wet. Well, you'd hear a lot of echoes in echo valley once you shout.

There are many places to stay in Sagada - many inns and houses for transients. It's not too pricey, anyway.

Well, it is possible to get to Sagada from Banaue but I don't have much information about this. Going to Banaue form Sagada is possible via Bontoc. It would take you maybe two hours or less from Sagada to Bontoc and another two hours or more from Bonotoc to Banaue...

You can go to Yoghurt House and Masferre for some food trips. These are quality restaurants. For your stay in Sagada, I'll update you later for my friend's relatives there who have inns. They can even provide you tour guides and good accomodation is promised,

If you arrive at Baguio at nighth, it would always be possible to have a night life for Baguio is quite alive 24 hours a day. Yo can go to Legarda Road or Nevada Square for this. Good place to stay? There are many inns, hotels, and houses for transients available here. YOu can go to Hotel Veniz for your stay but I am not aware of the price. However, one thing that's good here is that it is located downtown.

To travel with your best friend does not matter. Many people go on a trip to Sagada. I bet you'd see a lot of Koreans and Americans there on the weekend most especially.

That's all and I hope that you'll enjoy your trip...

From Manila, take a bus going to Banaue for 5-6 hours travel. You can stay in Banaue hotel (P2,000/night with breakfast for 2). Then P3,300 for roundtrip wholeday jeep rental going to Sagada. If you will take overnight to Sagada, the jeep will send & fetch you from/to Sagada/Banaue hotel for P4,300. The guides fee is around P500 for the 2 of you and around P50 for Sagada municipal fee payable on sight. I recommend night trip bus going to Banaue so that you can enjoy your first day fully. for further assistance, pls email me at lindaltan@yahoo.com
