I recently visited eBay and asked someone about a game that I thought was for PS2. The seller sent me a reply that said, "I am from England and only sell PAL games." What in the world does this mean?

It meant, DONT BUY This game from me!
If you buy it it wont work.
I live in germany for awhile (miltiary) and the tv systems and the like were not the same as the ones from the USA.
Not sure why that is but I am sure that it just IS!
The easiest way to explain it would be like the way that certain cell phones cannot be switched from one carrier to the next
(they are all phones but just coded differently)

Besides (IMO) buying games and the like from overseas vendors are never a good deal.
The postage is inflated and you are taking a gamble that it is compatible with your system.
When you get the game 3-4 weeks later, you could have in most cases paid the extra $2.00 and played the game within a week.
Heavan help you if you dont get the game. Paypal would probably be of little assistance under the so called buyer protection plan
(some entire countries are NOT covered)
HE did you a favor
DO NOT BUY THAT GAME

It is a standard that is used in europe. In america, we use the standard NTSC. Pal may not work in your PS2.
