Just before Christmas I saw 3 women shoplift from Mothercare but although I was angry about it I noticed that the store only had one person on behind the till and no-one on the floor or anywhere else..so I thought, well if they're to mean to pay extra staff at christmas time then they deserve all they get!!!!

If i saw somebody shoplifting i would just mind my own business and not say anything. They would soon learn their lesson on their own with that shoplifting stuff.

If there is a guard available or a shop assistant around, then i'll tell them, whilst still watching the suspect.

If there wasn't, then i would approach the person myself, tell them to put the stuff back, and then get the hell out of the shop.

Inform a security guard.

The goods we buy would be cheaper if there was less shoplifting

I'd be disgusted but not do anything about it, if the person is willing to steal they're probably crazy enough to follow me home and beat me up or worse.

Wait for them to walk outside and beat them up and steal whatever they had took from the store... duh... lol. Ok, better way is just tell the security guard or cashier. Yeah, the latter is not as exciting but will do.

Avoid them, since there's the possibility that they would be (or have as an assistant) a pickpocket.

Like another answerer said, it's not her area to avenge wrongdoing
