Where and how do I get my ads to be published?

I have my own business and I want to advertise my business.

If you receive most of your clients from your website or you would like to receive more then I suggest you write articles about your services, i.e. what specials are you offering at the moment? what services do you offer? Anything about your business, write an article about. You should basically become a journalist for your business!

Why should you submit articles to the various article directories?
1) It creates fresh backlinks to your website which increases your organic rankings.
2) Increases targeted traffic flow to your website
3) Other webmasters may use your article on their website which gives you even more exposure and traffic to your site.
4) Most directories offer free submission.

It all depends on how much you have to spend.
If you have a budget of 80k I can show you where to spend it but if your like most young business and are running on almost empty you have to be a little more adventurous.

When we started out with our online business money was very scarce.

We did lots of mail box drops with fliers. Ad vertised in the local papers and when more money came along we advertised in the national papers. We signed up for free ad companies which didn't work that well but it did work.

We spent alot of time online searching for free places to advertise. We joined forums and started contributing our sixpence worth of info and got traffic that way.

We placed signs around the town which are cheap to make but very good if placed at strategic places. Ie large round abouts traffic lights etc.

We printed fake money that looked like a $100 and left them lying around. People would find them pick them up and on the reverse side was our business details.

Every e-mail we send has a signature on it.
We advertised in the e-zines which targeted our market.

We write and submit articles to directories and some that were written 2-3 years ago are still in circulation which is all traffic and then cash.

First decide where you want your ads to appear. Some ideas are:
Local newspaper, local high school newspaper, magazines that are relevant to the industry that you business is in, magazines that your target market of clients are likely to read, the radio.
Then go to the website and/or call the media outlets in which you want to advertise and tell them you want to buy an ad for your business. Some media outlets will send an ad rep to you to give everything ready for the ad to appear and they will let youknow the different price options. Others will talk you through it on the phone.
