Nothing good has come from embryonic stem cell research. What is the point? Follow the money..... The supporters want federal funding because the private sector sees it as a dead end. Plenty of private funding for stem cell research. Lots of progress with stem cell research so people want to invest. The government does not need to throw away more money than we already do.

embrionic stem cell research is funded by the private sector, congress wants to make us pay for it,it kills unborn fetuses, and it has had no progress whatsoever,Adult stem cell research(from living people)and the newly found amniotic stem cell research, has produced results, and its documented, these are the same cells that are found in embryos,so whats basically the real reason is that, embrionic research, supposedly can justify abortion, when these same cells can be found in adults, amniotic fluid, and umbelical cords(where they were originally discovered) so like the president,I'm totally against embrionic research(and embrionic only)

Bush appears to oppose stem cell research because the Christian Conservative base finds this research to be biblically offensive. While this research holds out much promise for major breakthroughs in health care for a variety of diseases, there are those who oppose it on religious grounds. While our country was founded upon the principal of separation of church and state, this administration has moved ever closer to incorporating religion into policy.

Like we saw in the last election, Bush and his Republican buddies use issues like stem cell research in the hopes that it'll get all the right wingers all fired up. Why worry about paying people a living wage, the environment, health care, the Constitution when you have issues like immigration and stem cell research to get people fired up - that's Republican thinking.

He opposes it when it is done from aborted fetuses, but now there is a way to get stem cells from the placenta as well as the umbilical cord.

Yes pepe06 it is that bad. Embryonic stem cells destroy life to save life. Do not believe everything you hear from the liberal media. That is why he is against abortion also, life is precious not something to destroy especially babies. We should protect babies, not use them for science experiments, that is stuff for Hollywood movies.
